The Controller position is responsible for the accounting and finance operations of the company including completion of financial reports, accuracy of accounting records, cost accounting analysis, application of information technology, conformance with financial controls, and ensuring that reported results comply with accounting principles and standards. The position works out of our corporate offices in Marion, Wisconsin and reports directly to the President.


  • Provides daily leadership and direction to the accounting, finance, and information technology areas
  • Provides financial and manufacturing cost analysis and monthly forecasts, utilizing reports and data queries
  • Establishes & monitors overall accounting policies, internal controls, and accounting practices
  • Manages the company’s financial reporting system, and generates monthly financial statements
  • Maintains the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers to properly reflect the financial affairs of the company
  • Oversees accounts receivables to ensure timely and accurate application of billings and cash receipts
  • Collaborates with operations on product development, material, and cost saving initiatives
  • Responsible for all cash management & forecasting functions
  • Coordinates the annual audit, bank audits, tax audits, and insurance audits. Primary contact for CPA firm, banks, and insurance brokers
  • Responsible for submission of all government related reports including payroll and ACA reporting
  • Develops team members; providing clear expectations, feedback, recognition, and growth opportunities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO and the President

Requirements, Experience, & Education:

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting & financial management experience in a manufacturing and/or public accounting environment
  • Broad-based accounting operations experience in general and cost accounting, financial analysis, fixed asset accounting, receivables, payables, tax, audit, and legal compliance functions. High level of financial acumen and business operations understanding required
  • Experience with inventory costing including lean accounting concepts and inventory reconciliation
  • Direct hands-on experience working with financial ERP software and financial systems
  • Strategy and planning skills - demonstrated ability to proactively plan along with project management skills
  • Ability to understand organizational business needs and communicate technical concepts and IT solutions
  • Collaborative and analytical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage projects and deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Accounting required. CPA desired
