Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Online Microschool Guide to join our team. The successful candidate will teach students in grades 6 through 12 using a project-based learning approach. The Guide will be responsible for personalizing learning experiences, tracking students' internship and portfolio needs, and addressing both academic and social-emotional requirements to ensure each student is well-prepared for their post-high school journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a project-based curriculum that aligns with the goals of preparing students for college, careers, entrepreneurship, or trades.
- Design and deliver engaging online lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of students in grades 6-12.
- Personalize learning experiences to meet individual student needs, focusing on their academic goals, portfolio development, and social-emotional growth.
- Monitor and support students' progress in their internships, ensuring they gain relevant experience and skills for 9-12th graders.
- Assist students in building and refining their portfolios to showcase their projects, skills, and achievements.
- Utilize a variety of digital tools and resources to enhance the online learning experience and support student engagement.
- Assess and track student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback and adjusting instruction as needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and online teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, a specific subject area, or a related field preferred.
- Teaching certification in Secondary Education or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching middle and high school students, preferably in an online or virtual setting.
- Strong understanding of project-based learning principles and their application in middle and high school education.
- Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms, digital tools, and technology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with personalized learning and differentiated instruction.
- Familiarity with portfolio development and guiding students through the internship process.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
- Background in college and career counseling, entrepreneurship, or trade education.
