As a Sr Industry Consultant at SAS and as a member of the GHUSPS Health and Life Sciences consulting team, you will support customer analytic business needs through discovery, analysis, reporting, and presentation. You will fulfill customers’ analytic requirements by identifying data analysis needs, processing and exploring client data, translating business requirements into analytic methods, building or refining analytic models, developing analysis reports, and presenting reports to customers and SAS stakeholders. You will support delivery of the SAS Health Analytics Framework by automating analytic processes, assisting in quality assurance efforts, and providing support for customer projects as necessary.
Provide healthcare subject matter expertise in support of customers, as well as external and internal business partners.
Create relationships with SAS customers as a trusted advisor and partner.
Provide actionable, field specific feedback, from experiences and from customers, to Research and Development; inevitably leading to improvements and ultimately optimization of SAS products.
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare-related field, Informatics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a quantitative field.
5+ years professional analytics-related experience.
Understanding of healthcare claims data.
Knowledge of healthcare standards, ontologies, and code sets (e.g., HL7, SNOMED CT, CPT).
Strong SAS programming skills, specifically in data manipulation or analysis.
Ability to travel as business requirements dictate at management’s discretion.
Must be a passionately curious, dedicated life-long learner with an analytical mind and strong communication skills to convey the technical to a non-technical audience, and an accountable problem-solving disposition.
Advanced degree in Healthcare-related field (e.g., MPH, MHA), Informatics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a quantitative field.
Experience working in either a healthcare payer or provider environment.
Deep understanding of value-based care, bundled payment models, and episodes of care.
Experience in Real World Evidence data management and analysis.
Proficiency in Python and/or R programming languages.
Knowledge of software or applications development life cycle.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to connect with individuals from all levels of an organization both verbally and in writing.
Familiar with SAS or competitive products in the Healthcare and/or Real World Evidence spaces.
Ability to solve customers’ complex business problems using innovative analytical processes and techniques.
Ability to perform in both team and individual work environments.
