As a Production Planner/Scheduler, you are responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day activities surrounding customer orders to ensure customer deadlines are met and maximum operational efficiency is achieved. This role is responsible for coordinating production operations, ensuring on time delivery of products, monitoring customer orders and communicating orders to the production floor. You will serve as the intermediary between elements of the supply chain and will be directly responsible for plant production schedules. You will orchestrate all supply chain efforts with logistics and customer service teams, creating and organizing the most efficient manufacturing schedules that maximize efficiency and productivity to meet customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create daily production schedules that ensure continuous plant operations and prevent plant downtime to minimize profit losses
Communicate production schedules to the production floor based on customer orders and upcoming deadlines
Serve as liaison between the production department and sales department to communicate customer needs and current production abilities.
Communicate cross functionally with customer service reps., sales managers, supply chain managers and production managers to facilitate information sharing regarding machine breakdowns, late shipments, expedited orders and modify daily production plans to accommodate new information.
Communicate production logistics decisions with cross functional stakeholders as necessary to ensure alignment.
Continuously identify innovative ways to improve machine efficiency, reduce waste and maximize machine utilization.
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling reports to measure performance and identify solutions to optimize efficiency when appropriate.
Experience with large ERP and Demand Planning Software is preferred. Petmate uses Logility.
Demonstrated organizational skills to ensure achievement and desired results.
Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and updated information.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization while accomplishing organizational goals.
Proven ability to identify and analyze problems while generating and evaluating alternative solutions.
Maintain high attention to detail to recognize errors and complete work with thoroughness.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong Excel skills. Being able to run pivot tables, Vlook ups, manipulate data, reformat data. Advanced Excel Skills
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 5 years scheduling or planning experience.
