Child Mental Health IOP Therapist/Counselor

Alternative Behavioral Care [now part of LifeStance, a national behavioral medicine provider], a leading provider of mental health services for children, adolescents, women and adults, and adolescents' and adults' addiction recovery treatment is seeking a part time (15-20 hrs/week) fully or provisionally licensed therapist/counselor with at least one year of experience in working with children with mental health. The qualified candidate will conduct group IOP therapy, provide direct treatment services, maintain timely and necessary file documentations, and case manage the clients. Position is ideal to complement a private practice. If interested the employee will be credentialed by company to provide individual counseling to child, tween and teen clients.

Applicant must:

  • Hold a Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a behavioral health related field.
  • Must be licensed, or a provisionally licensed counselor or social worker.
  • Have experience with multi-disciplinary bio-psychosocial approach to mental disorders.
  • Work well with other mental health professionals including psychiatrists.
  • Have passion and desire to work with children, and grow in that position.
  • Have strong clinical assessment and intervention skills.
  • Be an effective team player.
  • Be strong in writing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment plans
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Skills :

  • Advanced knowledge of therapy theories and the ability to implement them effectively
  • Case management skills
  • Ability to document all work and complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Strong organization skills with an ability to multi task on a daily basis, including managing a full caseload while prioritizing tasks.

Reliable transportation is required for this position. The schedule for this position requires 15-20 hours a week, including Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Employer offers competitive pay, and a professional team of colleagues to work with.
