We are looking for a passionate and ambitious individual with a strong drive to manage and grow our company’s Training Academy® customer training program. The Training and Development Manager is a key role within the Sales & Marketing team that will be responsible for providing world-class product and service training for our valued customers.
This position’s mission is directing our Training Academy® program and building it to become the airfield and airport industry reference standard. This includes program optimization, modernization of the existing content, creation of new training content and improving our training facility and hands-on learning equipment.
It will also involve mentoring and developing our training faculty (currently colleagues shared amongst the Product Management, Engineering Services and Sales departments), hands on role in the development and presentation of training material and programs.
The candidate must have strong customer, leadership and time management skills. This person must be able to work in a high performance culture with challenges to direct the design, developing, launching and maintaining a technical training program. This person must be an advocate for the customer when developing training material and creating modern learning strategies.
In this highly collaborative role, you will work closely with Director of Customer Success and partner with global teams including Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering Services to develop and execute a strategy for modernizing and growing our training services.

Own, adapt and execute the strategic training plan for ADB Safegate, Americas
Liaise with leaders of product development, product management, sales and marketing to learn and create industry reference standard training content
Responsible for training performance against KPI's including but not limited to organic growth, customer expansion/adoption, efficiency metrics and customer satisfaction
Grow and expand the Training Academy® (customer training) into a fully sustainable profit center
Long term vision to create and implement a new program, ADB Safegate University™ (employee training)
Training Program Development
Improve the Customer Experience (Cx) and efficiencies by optimizing and developing new processes for the Training Academy to continually drive greater quality, consistency, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Lead the clean-up, rebranding and modernization of current training program content
Develop new ideas and use of multiple media to enhance content and learning
Lead creation of new training programs and content to expand training programs to additional levels of education (i.e. AGL Level 2, Contractor Certifications and Gates)
Company-wide Cross Functional Collaboration
Work in close collaboration with other corporate functional teams in a matrix environment (Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering Services, IT, Human Resources)
Working effectively with other department to coordinate trainer’s schedules, qualifying trainers and effectively managing a full training schedule
ADB Safegate Training Academy®
Lead and manage the ADB Safegate Training Academy® for the Americas including the program, the curriculum and trainers
Enhance and manage training performance KPI’s including trainer performance and customer satisfaction ratings
Develop, train, motivate and lead a world class team of training faculty. Currently, no direct report trainers. Trainers will be pooled from Product Management, Engineering Services and Sales.
Collaborate globally to learn and adapt ideas / content from Training Academy counterpart in Brussels
The education and experience described here are representative of the education and experience levels required and desired for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, applied science or equivalent field degree
Five (5) or more years of managing and developing training programs in a product or technical field
Five (5) or more years of training experience as a trainer working with technical products
Learn and maintain working knowledge of industry standards, policies and products including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and TP312 (Canada standard) [Industry knowledge will be part of onboard training and field experience].
Learn and maintain deep knowledge of the industry products, systems and services. [Product and services knowledge will be part of onboard training and field experience].
Experience working on global teams in a matrix structured organization
Experience working within an international company including sales of innovative, technology driven product and systems
Fluent English (oral and written communication skills)
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position at this time
The vision is to grow the program and add training faculty once program proves it is a self-sustainable profit center
Indirect reports will include the pool of training faculty from the Product Management, Sales and Engineering Service departments
Approximately 15-20% travel including international
Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.

Visual stamina and acuity adequate to review alpha/numeric data and to spend long periods looking at computer screen.
The job will generally require travel to a customer’s location or construction job site 25% of the time. The remainder will be in an office environment. Conditions will vary at each location. While on a job site the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions that include wet and/or humid, cold and heat conditions, working near moving mechanical parts.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee will be working with and around high voltage and high current equipment; there is a risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
