ECS is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office.
ECS is seeking a Network Security Engineer to work as a member of a team managing and maintaining a network enterprise in support of multiple enclaves to support the DoD community. The candidate will provide support to a team developing, maintaining, creating, documenting, and installing network and enterprise infrastructure. The candidate will work on a multi-platform, multi-tenant, hybrid hosted/cloud architecture that requires comprehensive network security oversight and management. This is a demanding, high-energy position requiring innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software problems. The candidate will possess a high level of understanding of Firewall changes and requests, in addition to device configuration management. The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills.
The job is located in Fairfax VA, with some local trips to Ashburn, VA and other locations in the National Capital Region and/or CONUS.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have a Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance with SCI.
Bachelors and five years-experience.
Ability to complete and oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network firewall hardware, software, and connections.
Excellent hands-on technical knowledge of network switch, router, firewall, and management software.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Write/edit and execute technical documents including, but not limited to: Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and other documents as required.
Demonstrate a working understanding of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) STIG requirements.
Ability to review customer requests and provide IA scope management for Technical Requirements.
Must possess DoD 8570 compliant certifications for IAM Level II.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills and be customer-service and career/growth-oriented.
Availability to support after hour maintenance windows.
Understanding of Tipping Point with a strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, cookies, authentication, web filtering, virus scanning, web servers, SSL/encryption and reporting packages.
Experience working with the NIST 800-53r Risk Management Framework.
Experience working with Security Gateway and BCAP technologies.
Experience with Enclave Test and Development (T&D) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
Knowledge of Symantec's Blue Coat proxy products to include deployment, design, and architecture with the ability to troubleshoot proxy issues.
Development of internal policy and procedure documents and plans.
In depth understanding of established security standards and governmental requirements.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
Ability to pick up technologies quickly and document recommendations for customer and management approval.
