Together they have been awarded the Transform I-66 Outside the Beltway project, this project involves multi-modal improvements to 22.5 miles of I-66 corridor from I-495 in Fairfax County to University Boulevard in Prince William County. The project features two express lanes alongside three regular lanes in each direction, with space in the median for future transit; corridor-wide bike and pedestrian improvements; and safety and operational improvements at key interchanges throughout the corridor.

Role Summary:
The position of Utilities Project Manager will direct construction activities for certain utility relocation activities of the project. The Project Manager shall have the responsibility for site administration and coordination of site operations, quality control, health and safety, and cost control for field operations of a defined area or type of utility activities for the project.

DUTIES:
Develops, implements, manages, maintains, and administers all processes related to utilities;
Directs all utility activities for the designated area or activities;
Coordinates supplies, subcontractors, Superintendents and Project Managers that may report to this position;
Represents company and project to client, owner, and other entities;
Partners with HR and other departments to manage staff through the employment life-cycle;
Participates in budget forecast, and assures compliance of such;
Reviews and approves pay applications, analyzes construction costs and assesses potential improvements in schedule and activity costs;
Provides ideas and innovation for the project;
Ensures safety compliance is paramount throughout the construction process;
Ensures compliance with quality requirements and standards;
Ensures construction schedule is met;
Defines scope of work for subcontracts to be awarded;
Reviews bids and recommends subcontractors and suppliers for awards of work; and
Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or equivalent;
Minimum of two (2) years of experience of progressive responsibility on similar construction projects;
Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams (design and construction engineers, superintendents, inspectors);
Experience on large highway, bridge/structures, paving, and/or utility relocation projects;
Cost control and scheduling experience; and
Proven experience in managing and directing people.
