The Director, Human Resources is responsible to lead the HR initiatives and programs for the Network Entity or Hospital. Position reports to the Entity President with an informal reporting relationship to the Network SVP of HR. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the Human Resources function within the Entity, including recruitment and training, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. Supervises HR staff. Serves as liaison to employees and management team at the Entity. Works closely with the Network HR administrative team and other Entity HR Directors.
Plans, organizes, directs and controls various Human Resources programs, including recruitment and training, compensation and benefits, employee relations and policies and procedures.
Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish and maintain a positive employer-employee relationship to promote a high level of employee satisfaction.
Advises management on various issues involving disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers, salary recommendations, policy interpretations, terminations and grievances.
Supervises HR staff at local site.
Attends meetings and serves on task forces related to Entity operations and Human Resources initiatives.
Prepares for and participates in internal and external regulatory reviews including Joint Commission.
Provides strategic consultation and partnership in a variety of HR functional areas such as Workforce Planning, Recruitment, Compensation, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Training & Development, etc.
Provides coaching and guidance related to performance management.
Responsible for all HR related communication for respective entity or service line.
Represents the entity at a Network level in regards to the design and implementation of various programs, policies, initiatives, etc.
Analyzes trends and HR metrics to develop solutions, programs and related policies to better partner with entity and managers.
Collaborates with Network HR leaders to achieve HR and entity specific goals and objectives.
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Sitting for up to six hours per day, one hour at a time. Standing for up to five hours per day, one hour at a time. Walking up to three hours per day, thirty minutes at a time. Fingering and handling frequently. Twisting and turning of hands occasionally. Lifting and carrying up to ten pounds, occasionally. Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Occasionally stoops, bends, squats, kneels, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general, near and visual monotony.

Performs additional HR duties as assigned

B.A./B.S. in appropriate Human Resources, Business or Psychology discipline with course work in the Human Resources field required. HR Certification preferred.

A minimum of 5 years experience in a broad range of Human Resource Functions. Previous HR experience in healthcare preferred. Must have demonstrated skills in understanding and supporting the team concept, active listening, problem solving and maintaining confidentiality. Past experience with an HRIS System preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
