We're looking for a Translations Terminologist to partner with Global Business Marketing (GBM) content teams to help drive more consistent and high-quality translations of marketing content at Facebook. Terminology is the practice of documenting terms and concepts for the purpose of accurate and concise writing and translation. In this role, you would lead tools and process solutions for making this process impactful and efficient, while helping to train and evangelize the term practice within Global Business Marketing. You would also partner with Facebook's Content Strategy and Internationalization functions to establish companywide operating standards.
We're looking for a strong communicator and cross-team collaborator who enjoys connecting people and analyzing process across teams. Ideal candidates will have a background in linguistics or library science, and/or experience with content style and terminology. Do you have an interest or aptitude for using and optimizing content tools (CMSs, reporting tools, databases)? Are you passionate about creating high-quality communication experiences for international audiences? If you love high-level process improvement strategy, have an understanding of B2B technology marketing plus experience managing terms and translations, and you thrive in a flat, fast-moving organization, then this is the perfect role for you!
Partner across GBM (global and regional) and Content Strategy teams to leverage and expand Facebook's existing terminology tools and process solutions
Work directly with Internationalization team to create process solutions that improve translation while also serving source language writers
Analyze and drive improvements to content quality measurement with terminology tools
Integrate with product content strategists to understand and document different concept areas across Facebook
Build and deliver ongoing terminology education programs across GBM teams
Research and write terminology entries
Train and coordinate the activities of term contributors
8+ years experience with content, including style guides or terminology
Experience with localization and translation
Experience with terminology or linguistics
Information architecture or knowledge management experience
A degree in Library Science, Languages, Information Architecture or related
