Coley & Associates is seeking several Education Technicians who will work onsite at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL supporting the Air Force Civilian Associate Degree Program. This program is designed to help Air Force civilians reach their full leadership potential by providing a little to no-cost Associate of Applied Science Degree in Air Force Leadership and Management Studies. Graduates of the program will gain the following competencies:
They will have a better understanding of the History and Heritage of the Air Force and what it means to be a professional within the Air Force
They will be steeped in the principles of Leadership and Management within the context of an Air Force organization
They will have a greater understanding of interpersonal, group and organizational dynamics
Create and execute education support project plans, following a project delivery approach for work and provide support to the Civilian Associate Degree Program (CADP), specifically within the areas of Foundational Studies/Academic Advising. Academic advising is provided throughout the students’ lifecycle, guiding students through completion of the 30 credit hours within Foundational Studies (General Education and Elective) degree requirements through counseling and advising-related student support courses. Provide one-on-one as well as in group (class) settings. Advising/counseling will typically focus on foundational studies requirement completion, but advisors will also provide students with basic information about general policies and procedures of CADP to engage students, identify areas where students may need additional support, and refer student to appropriate available resources. Communicate with students via phone, email or virtual online meetings using applications such as Adobe Connect.
This position is contingent on a federal contract award.

What You’ll Bring…

Provide academic advising to students within the Air Force Civilian Associates Degree Program (CADP)
Assist students to complete and/or update advising sheet (also understood as degree plan) based on established, approved list of courses and CLEP/DSST exams and/or understanding of accreditation requirements and subject matter requirements to complete CADP requirements based upon AU Registrar standards
Work with students to identify a list of CADP approved CLEP/DSST exams that will complete each general education and elective requirement.
Review the class to ensure college is appropriately accredited and that the course meets the CADP degree requirements if a student desires to take a class to complete a foundational studies requirement
Review student transcripts (copy of transcript sent to AU Registrar or unofficial copy sent by student to CADP) to explore whether students may have potentially viable transfer credits if a student has transfer credits to bring into the program. Advisor will understand that AU Registrar will be the formal/final review and approve/disapprove authority and that feedback will be based upon previous AU-approve school/class database
Provide information to students and help students update advising sheet
Document each individual student advising in advising/counseling notes using established CADP/AU systems
Track all student advising sheets
Update AU/CADP student record, AFVEC and all other associated CADP/AU systems, as appropriate, each time advising sheet is updated
Use internal CADP spreadsheet and systems as well as AU and AU Registrar systems to track raw data, final products, and completion or other metrics as appropriate
Develop draft transfer credit packages, per CADP & AU Registrar format, for students based upon student advising sheet, transcripts, student transfer request form, list of approved transfer courses and exams
Provide completed draft to government for review/approval

Educational/Professional Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or Social Work or a related field with 2 years of experience in an academic setting providing advising or counseling OR a Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling or Social Work or a related field or a Terminal degree in Education, Counseling or Social Work or a related field.
Air Force civilian or Air Force military experience
U.S Citizenship required
