Ulster BOCES has an anticipated opening for Laborers in a part-time position to help with outdoor summer work for the Building and Grounds Department. Fingerprinting required. All Civil Service laws, rules and regulations apply.
Civil Service Classification: Labor. Merit and fitness examination does not apply.
Rate: Starting at $11.25 per hour
The work involves responsibility for the performance of manual and unskilled work. The work is carried out in accordance with established procedures and involves heavy work requiring physical endurance. The work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher level employee. Supervision of others is not normally a function of the class. Does related work as required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: The typical work activities listed below, while providing representative examples of the variety of work assignments in the title do not describe any individual position. Incumbents in this title may perform some or all of the following, as well as other related activities not described.
Rakes, tamps and shovels cold patch and asphalt;
Loads and unloads trucks;
Operates air compressors, jack hammers, concrete mixers and pumps;
Assists in the repair of retaining walls;
Excavates and back fills for construction and repairs;
Cuts and removes trees and bushes;
Performs unskilled work in connection with the painting and maintenance of signs and bridges;
Cuts grass and assists in ground maintenance activities;
Does minor carpentry and building repair work;
Performs general cleaning tasks;
May occasionally operate a motor vehicle.
