Sr. Director of Production Technology

The Sr. Director of Production Technology will provide all the necessary project management and technical support functions to the Sesame production team in the planning, creation, QC, post-production and delivery of multiple TV series, specials and shorts produced by Sesame Workshop. This position reports to the CTO.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal, external teams, vendors to provide the necessary technical guidance, resources, setup for the different phases of the production and distribution lifecycle.
  • Work with show production team to coordinate, communicate and vet of all technical requirements for the show production and delivery
  • Liaison with the production management, technology and engineering team to plan, build and maintain all the necessary technologies required for all external and internal production studios, edit control/QC/viewing rooms
  • Work closely with technology and engineering team to ensure all technology, process and equipment, and systems are meeting the Sesame show production team ongoing 24x7x365 expectations
  • Work with the internal support team to ensure technologies and processes are in alignment with edit (Adobe premiere, curation (IPV/HSM), metadata entry (eRosita and Risetime), distribution (Signiant/Aspera) systems
  • Work with internal/external team, production studio, and distribution to ensure technical and broadcast-quality are in alignment with delivery specs
  • Work with the production team to project manage, track all shows production, post-production, QC, and delivery timelines
  • Liaison with show production, technology and engineering team and key stakeholders to set technical expectations, budget, requirements for new technologies for studio, edit, post and QC
  • Work with internal and external team to manage the scheduling of technical resources (edit rooms, studios, equipment, etc.) during the production lifecycles
  • Work with business stakeholders to refine current technical/business operating processes, policies for existing and new shows production lifecycles
  • Work with production, technology and engineering team, production studio, vendors, staff to ensure that all cybersecurity process, policies, and practices are implemented, monitored and are in compliance.
  • Oversee media management policies, process and practices for all IP assets that are created, edited, distributed, store and archived
Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Communications, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in media/studio/television production management
  • At least seven years’ experience in studio, control rooms, production and distribution technical project management support
  • Should be knowledgeable and familiar with the following technologies:

  • Time codes
  • Dolby Vision HDR
  • Apple Pro pes specs
  • Dolby Atmos Streaming

  • Other technologies related to show production, post-production and distribution
  • Media Management process/systems
  • Cybersecurity for Video Production Lifecycle
  • Production lifecycle process and policy management
  • Knowledgeable in budget/show production management process
  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends
