The Associate IMS Core Engineer will support existing deployed and centrally managed infrastructure. This positions primary focus is on VoLTE/ IMS/RCS Core operations, EPC/VoLTE DNS Database, and/or SIP/VoLTE translations, across our wireless service domains; largely operationally focused, guided by a more senior engineers, while providing support for new services in both todays 4G/IMS environment. This role provides input to the team on needed improvements. This position will perform operator level troubleshooting or escalate as needed for restoring service outages in collaboration with other support organizations as required.

  • Assists team in identifying changes needed in the customer-servicing infrastructure configuration. Advise on changes on owned infrastructure.
  • Assist in executing processes for the customer-servicing infrastructure, preventative maintenance plans and procedures to ensure high availability
  • Assist with less complex issue identification and resolution processes for customer-servicing infrastructure-related
  • Troubleshoot and escalate as required senior engineers
  • Utilizes analytical and development tools to manage and support our wirelss services health with guidance from a more senior engineer
  • Ensure communication of process and procedure changes to key stakeholders
  • Supports an effective test plan for any new / changed customer-servicing infrastructure
  • Assists with identifying and correcting issues in the network as well as to measure and optimize performance
  • Participate in key vendor/industry forums and service health best practices

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology

Networking/System Certifications or related experience preferred

Minimum 1+ years relevant work/industry experience with an advanced knowledge of concepts, protocols, vendors, and industry trends in legacy and next generation cellular data networks is preferred

Networking certifications with a focus on IP telephony or related experience preferred

Understanding of 4G/IMS architecture, call flows, technologies, and implementations based upon 3GPP standards Strong System Administration Capabilities

Strong knowledge of vendor-specific solutions for wireless services, along with knowledge of standards-based application delivery best-practices

Knowledge of re-engineering / process improvement

Demonstrated problem solving / analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge in Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint

Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
