PPSAT is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join the Organizational Development (OD) team in our Chapel Hill, NC location. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management and employees on human resource-related issues. The successful HRBP acts as an employee and organizational champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, and formulates partnerships across the assigned departments/locations to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the objectives of the organization.

Essential Functions
Conducts regular meetings with respective business units.
Consults with assigned business unit’s management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the VP of OD to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the VP of OD and employment attorney as needed/required.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Primary Recruiter for assigned business units.
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Collaborates with training department and business unit to identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
Provides administrative oversight to assigned HR functional areas (may include- benefits, leaves, HRIS & payroll processing, on-boarding and off-boarding, personnel policies).
Project lead or management as assigned.
Ensure consistent implementation of HR programs and company-wide policies, procedures and guidelines.
Provide training to employees and supervisors as needed and in partnership with the Director of Training.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Two to four year’s of HR experience may be substituted.
Three to five years’ HR experience.
Intermediate skill level using MS Office products
Previous experience and demonstrated capability using a HRIS.
Demonstrate capability in administration of one HR functional area (benefits, leaves, compensation, performance management, policies, etc).
Willingness and ability to travel to PPSAT centers.
Master’s degree and/or HR certification preferred.
Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of employment law, both state and federal (including but not limited to FMLA, ADAAA, EEO) preferred.
Experience working in a highly regulated environment, health care environment preferred.
Demonstrated sound judgment, ability to apply depth of knowledge and experience in solving complex challenges/making recommendations where no precedent may exist preferred.
Salary
Pay Grade 3
Starting salary between $59,300 - $71,400 dependent upon experience.
