Duties:
- Evaluate loan applications and determine the creditworthiness of borrowers
- Collect and review financial documents, such as income statements and tax returns
- Analyze applicant's financial status, credit history, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
- Ensure compliance with lending policies and regulations
- Guide borrowers through the loan application process, explaining different types of loans and available options
- Collaborate with underwriters, appraisers, and other professionals to complete loan packages
- Maintain knowledge of current market trends and changes in lending practices
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Loan Officer or similar role in a bank or financial institution
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform 10-key typing accurately
- Knowledge of escrow procedures and contract law
- Familiarity with various types of loans (e.g., conventional, FHA, VA)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
