OVERVIEW OF THE JOB:
The Director of People Operations (DPO) creates and manages systems, processes and practices across multiple regions and departments to ensure a strategic people and cultural orientation that contributes to E&CO’s continued success and growth and empowers each employee to do his or her best work every day. The DPO embraces his/her role as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, strategic partner to the Regional Directors, and leader and thought partner to the Human Resources Team. As someone with direct experience providing and overseeing comprehensive employee services within a nonprofit setting, the DPO continuously creates new and innovative ways to recruit and retain people. The DPO capably and comfortably curates the employee experience by strengthening relationships between workers and managers and leveraging data to improve engagement and lower attrition. The DPO recognizes that employee wellbeing leads to higher engagement and performance ratings. She/he regularly engages with employees to understand what drives a fulfilling employee experience that is both rewarding and professionally fulfilling.

Among the DPO’s many duties, this critical member of the organization is responsible for:

Operations and Analytics

Manage HR generalists to ensure all employee relations / labor relations, training and issues have proactive employee / labor relations solutions and outcomes to address concerns / challenges and limit liability.

Lead and manage the revisions of any and all HR policies to be in compliance with changing or new legislation.

Ensure statutory training requirements are met and coaching / disciplinary action is administered appropriately and fairly, providing active support as necessary.

Develop performance review program, monitoring to ensure they are done equitably and fairly.

Own employee retention, turnover and satisfaction metrics and work with managers to implement data driven initiatives, practices and benefits to improve these metrics.

Oversee the coaching and counseling program at all locations and actively participate in the training of managers to do coaching and counseling day to day.

Employee Recruitment / Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Manage HR recruiting, coordination of sourcing, screening, interviewing, conducting reference checks for entry-level to management level positions.

Lead E&CO to develop and implement flexible Talent Acquisition strategies to meet the continued growth needs of E&CO.

Direct and instruct management in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to ensure the hiring and retention of quality staff members.

Oversee the ‘New Hire’ training for all appropriate managers and monitor onboarding programs to ensure they are being done to the highest standards and are in compliance.

Take a leadership role within the implementation team for the HRIS.
Employee Engagement & Retention

Ensure successful execution of employee engagement events and activities in all regions.

Oversee the creation and execution of all learning and employee development programs, onboarding programs, service initiatives and training.

Provide coaching and counseling to Management Team to ensure team members are effective, collaborative, and consistently taking actions that are in line with company values, ethics, and mission.

Create succession planning programs and bench building initiatives to promote talent in preparation for growth of future management positions.

Create, maintain and coordinate E&CO service training programs to provide manager/supervisory development by traveling to each E&CO region and/or locations as required on an established timeline.

Salary range: $64,000/year - $80,000/year + benefits. Actual wage is based upon level of education and experience. QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred.

Professional HR certification. A minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management in a similar size organization.

Demonstrated experience successfully managing complex leadership and HR issues.

Experience in HRIS and ATS tools, with a strong preference for implementation experience.

Experience developing and creating employee engagement and culture programs.

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to facilitate and mediate sensitive matters.

Access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and acceptable DMV record.

Successful completion of drug screen, background check and physical evaluation.

Ability to travel regularly in and throughout regions in which services are offered.

Salary range: $64,000/year - $80,000/year + benefits. Actual wage is based upon level of education and experience.
