The Global Digital Signal Processing Software department is responsible for architecting, designing and developing real-time software for digital communications and audio for Motorola Solution's worldwide portfolio two-way radio products.
Design and develop real-time software for audio and digital communications algorithms and device drivers to be used in wireless products.
Work in a global environment – teams in 3 continents – to develop software algorithms that will be used in all Motorola public safety wireless products globally.
Analyze tradeoffs and prioritize requirements; address requirement conflicts.
Develop DSP algorithms for wireless protocols.
Architect, design and develop fixed point DSP software on various target processors.
Design and implement optimization techniques for improving algorithm performance.
Tune algorithms to meet strict real-time performance requirements.
Optimize memory usage of algorithms.
Design and implement device driver and peripheral drivers to meet strict protocol timing requirements.
Provide technical leadership to a globally located team of developers.
Analyze tradeoffs and make design decisions on software development environment.
Some global travel may be required
Minimum 10 years of DSP and low level software development experience on embedded targets.
Experience with TI DSPs a plus.
Candidate should have gone through at least one full product development lifecycle for a wireless communication product.
Academic grounding in DSP and Digital communications a plus.
Prior software development experience in a globally distributed team environment is desirable.
A BS in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 10 years experience in Wireless product development.
