Encore Enterprise is a franchisee of Five Guys in the Denver, CO market. Encore is currently looking to develop and open 15 new locations in the Denver and Aurora area. Over the last 2 years, Encore has grown their portfolio from 8 Five Guys restaurants in California, to 45 Five Guys restaurants throughout California, Oklahoma and now the Denver, CO market. We are looking for an Area Manager who wants to grow in their professional as our company continues to grow.
The Area Manager (AM) plays the key role in the Five Guys operations. Area Managers (AM) are the leaders and coaches of our regions. It is imperative that an AMs is able to understand the Five Guys' concepts and master those concepts. An AM needs to be able to coach their GMs and crew members as a master trainer who operates 100% within the Five Guys Operations Manual and Encore Employee Handbook. All activities of the Area Manager are expected to be consistent and supportive of Encore business goals, policies, and initiatives. The AM ensures and empowers each General Managers and their management team, within their areas to perform their job responsibilities and meet company expectations in all aspects of their job description.
Total Guest Satisfaction:
Ensures total guest satisfaction. Places Quality, Service, and Cleanliness as TOP priorities when visiting restaurants.
-Evaluates each restaurant’s quality, service and cleanliness standards. Provides regular feedback and coaching on areas that need improvement. Ensures that appropriate monitoring tools are utilized and empowers the team.
-Ensures that all employees are trained, motivated and empowered to deliver total guest satisfaction. Makes sure that all employees demonstrate a high level of service to our guests with urgency. Provides training, coaching, and feedback in any areas that are below standard.
-Makes sure that the use of systems and procedures maintain the company standards. Conducts regular inspections of their restaurants.
-Communicates all guest’s comments and concerns to the appropriate restaurant leaders and follows up to ensure that they are handled in a timely and effective manner.
-All activities and decisions are completely focused on and driven by the guests needs.
-Able to institute new idea’s and formulate objectives for teams.
-Building company sales through Total Guest Satisfaction.
Training and Development:
Continuously works to improve the skills, knowledge, and moral of the management teams within their supervision. Works through the AS’s/GM’s to ensure all employees receive the necessary training and support to perform their duties to their full potential.
-Treats all employees with dignity and respect; creates a thriving and growth environment where the entire area team does the same.
-Ensures that all members of the management teams within their area receive appropriate orientation, training, and development opportunities.
-Seeks development and growth opportunities for personal improvement.
-Ensures that the General Managers are hiring, training and developing their employees to maximize performance in their restaurant.
-Trains, coaches and provides regular performance feedback (both positive and corrective) to motivate and improve the performance of all employees.
-Evaluates the overall performance of the GMs based upon clearly communicated standards and expectations.
-Communicates and supports company goals, decisions and directives. Follows up to ensure understanding.
-Makes tough decisions regarding all performance issues. Confronts poor performance and takes corrective action. Holds GMs accountable for results.
-Provides appropriate and effective counseling and/or discipline through conflict management. Maintains proper documentation for all disciplinary situations.
-Makes a continuous effort to maintain a fun and enjoyable working experience.
-Provides effective training and follow-up of new products, programs and changes.
-Actively recruits General Managers, Assistant Managers, and Persons in charge. Ensures that employees are prepared for promotion before they take a position. Matches the skills and abilities of management to the needs of the restaurant to maximize results.
-Seeks coaching and honest feedback from leaders.
-Can improve systems, plans, goals, and direction of company.
-Can grow profit margins to increase company net worth, through execution of accountability, systems and planning.
-Highly thorough in all plans, goals, meetings, and objectives.
Effective Business Management:
Works to maximize the financial performance and profits of the restaurants under their supervision.
-Mentors subordinates, models and encourages the use of available systems, procedures and technology to meet business objectives.
-Develops and executes a business plan (key elements include: P&L, financial responsibilities, labor and food planning, local store marketing, plans from company evaluations and yearly reviews) to attain area results.
-Analyzes business performance and initiates appropriate corrective actions when deviations occur from expectations.
-Supports company-wide marketing programs and evaluates local restaurant marketing opportunities.
-Utilizes effective time management, organization, planning, communication, delegation and follow up to achieve results.
-Knows the market and is aware of guest demographics, competitive activities and intrusions.
-Identifies potential new sites for our restaurants and communicates them.
-Appropriately handles all interpersonal contacts in a positive and professional manner.
-Re-grouping of team when failures happen. Can lift and re-direct company into a new direction when needed. Makes failures into possibilities.
Appropriate and Fair Business Practices
Ensures that business and personnel practices are within the law and consistent with Encore Restaurants policies and procedures.
-Upholds company food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our customers and employees. Is SERV-SAFE certified.
-Serves as a role model and sets a positive example for the entire team in all aspects of business and personnel management.
-Holds employees and self accountable for the methods and processes used to achieve results.

-Monitors procedures to ensure the safety and security of all employees, guests, and company assets (building, cash, equipment and supplies).
-College degree (business administration, restaurant management, or finance preferable) or equivalent work experience required.
-5+ years in Multi-Unit management position. Preferably Multi-Unit/Manager experience including full service, fast casual and quick service restaurants. More than 5 units.
-Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
-Must have a telephone or other reliable means of communicating with all employees. Must be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Maintains an open-door policy with all employees.
-Knowledge of computers and office systems.
-Financial/analytical aptitude including planning, budgeting, scheduling and P&L management.
-Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
-Ability to achieve and maintain desired results.
-High sense of urgency; self motivator.
-Ability to work the hours necessary to manage and operate the business effectively.
-Ability to visually observe the restaurant operations and employee work performance.
-Ability to influence others to achieve company objectives.
-Ability to manage wide range of personalities for increase of company goals profits and team talent.
