About KIPP Bay Area Schools
KIPP is a non-profit network of 209 college-preparatory, public charter schools around the country educating early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students. KIPP schools are united by a common mission, a commitment to excellence, and a belief that if we help children develop the academic and character strengths they need for college and choice filled lives, they will be able to build a better tomorrow for themselves, for their communities, for us all.
There are currently 12 KIPP schools in the Bay Area educating 5,200 students in East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, San Lorenzo, San Jose, and Redwood City. In the fall of 2018, KIPP Bay Area Schools plans to open a new high school in East San Jose and a new elementary school in the Bayview Hunter's Point.
About KIPP Prize Preparatory Academy
At KIPP Prize Preparatory Academy we know that the prize will not be sent to us. We have to win it.
We know that some of the most competitive and robust opportunities in life and career exist in our own backyard- and we relentlessly prepare our students to be able to access those opportunities.
We provide a rigorous literacy-based, college preparatory curriculum combined with an emphasis on personalized learning, character, and a diverse range of cultural and enrichment experiences to enable our students to access the opportunities in the Silicon Valley and beyond. We believe that an excellent school is built when a thriving student and staff culture work in tandem, to climb the mountain to college.
We know that on our journey to college-readiness, there will be challenges. In partnership with our engaged and active families, we persist in our mission by approaching each second of each day of each year with joy and love- drawing on our most joyful and creative moments and keeping our eyes on the prize of our choice.
