How will you make an impact?
The Staff R&D Scientist’s responsibility is to provide technical support for contract API manufacturing by conducting process R&D and troubleshooting pilot plant/plant processes through hands-on laboratory experimentation.
What will you do?
Plan and execute experiments on synthesis and purification of organic entities for process evaluation, development and troubleshooting.
Record and analyze scientific data/observations in details. Write technical updates/reports. Participate in technical discussions with internal teams and clients.
Develop feasible chemical processes to synthesize drug intermediates and API’s that meet or exceed the quality requirements from clients.
Engage in process technology transfer of projects.
Research industry practices and processes and apply to innovative development internally and for client products.
Lead projects with minimal supervision. Manage project timelines and deliverables.
How will you get here?
PhD in Chemistry – required; Organic Chemistry – preferred.
0-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Good knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry. Familiar with scientific database search. Knowledge of cGMP as related to the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
Strong synthetic skills demonstrated by synthesis and isolation (chromatography, crystallization, distillation etc.) as well as characterization (NMR, IR, MS etc.) of organic compounds.
Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including managing technical discussions with internal and external clients.
