Research Analyst – Major Processing Industries (Refining, Chemicals, Mining, Transportation etc.)

The Major Processing Industries Research Analyst focuses developing analytical products that support our benchmarking business as well as targeted research to help clients in the oil and gas refining, chemicals, mining and minerals and other major commodity areas.

Seeking candidates with a background in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or related field.

Research Analyst – Capital Projects

General responsibilities for the position include analyzing data, conducting research, developing products, writing reports, and giving client presentations. More specifically, the research analyst will work on studies related to capital effectiveness and project management practices for site-managed capital projects.

Seeking candidates with a background in natural sciences, engineering or other quantitative research or related study. Prefer candidates with experience in a field related to the process industry, statistical quality control, or capital projects.

Required for all roles:

  • Sound knowledge of statistics. Proficient with statistical software (such as STATA®) is preferred.
  • Proven ability to turn an abstract concept or idea into something actionable
  • Ability to distill and communicate insights from complex data
  • Flexibility in thought / approach (as opposed to a rigid perspective)
  • Strong intellectual curiosity - a desire to learn and apply new things
  • Track record of finding creative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to manage projects / research independently
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge or experience with capital projects a plus
  • Knowledge or experience with the oil and gas industry a plus
  • Experience with direct client engagement a plus
