We are a fast-growing international publisher looking to hire an assistant to help with book marketing, sales tracking/accounting, and other publication-related tasks. This is a highly versatile position with many opportunities to advance and develop your skills. Best of all, you’ll be working from home (even post-pandemic!) and will be able to set your own hours.
The ideal candidate will be an avid reader and/or blogger who enjoys steamy romance and science fiction/fantasy novels. Prior experience with social media marketing, email marketing, ad copywriting, Adobe Suite, Wordpress, Amazon advertising, ad optimization software, and self-serve ad platforms like Pinterest, Snapchat, and Twitter is a plus. Fluency in multiple languages is another major plus.
Must have strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects and deadlines at once, excellent grammar and writing skills in English and/or another language (with preference given to German, French, Italian, Mandarin, and Japanese), social media savvy, and an eye for appealing images/design.
Your duties will include the following:
-Book formatting and proofing
-Maintaining the authors' Wordpress websites, including regular updates to content
-Managing public and social media presence for the authors, including regular content creation and maintenance of inboxes
-Liaising with other authors/publishers for cross-promo opportunities
-Liaising with retailers for promo/feature opportunities
-Creation, oversight, tracking, and optimization of Facebook ads
-Creation, oversight, tracking, and optimization of Amazon ads
-Creation, oversight, tracking, and optimization of Bookbub ads
-Creation, oversight, tracking, and optimization of Google, Bing, Yahoo PPC ads
-Creation, oversight, tracking, and optimization of Twitter & Goodreads ads
-Exploration and implementation of other advertising opportunities (Pinterest, Tumblr, display advertising, etc)
-Writing ad copy and creating ad images for the books, including teasers, images for FB ads, etc.
-Email marketing optimization, including growing newsletter subscribers, increasing open and click rates, etc.
-Proofreading, including line editing, copy editing, and minor content suggestions
-Assisting authors with creating and ordering SWAG, Facebook takeovers, copyright registration, and anything else that may be required
This is a contractor position, so if you're US-based, you'd get a 1099 instead of a W2. The pay is based on the hours you work, which may fluctuate from week to week but will generally be in the range of 40-45 hours. The starting pay is $17/hour, and there will be an annual bonus that depends on your performance and the general success of the company.
