ROLE of the POSITION

This position exists to provide assistance to the Head Coach of the Men's Basketball Program. This position will help assist and provide leadership, organization and technical expertise to the coaching staff and help in the development of student-athletes with respect to producing a competitive Men's Basketball program. This position will consult with the head coach on continued program review through developing practice and post game analysis for the head coach to review.

This position will work closely with the following: strength and conditioning in order to implement a S&C and nutritional plan; the Athletic trainer in order to apprise the Head Coach of each student-athlete's progress; the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Men's Basketball for scheduling home and away games and will assist said AD with the development and management of the game guarantee budget; and the Director of Academic Services on the continued academic progress of each student-athlete in order to keep the Head Coach apprised of any issues that may arise.

This position is expected to maintain a relationship with the student-athletes and be a life mentor to help them achieve success both on and off the court as well as assist the Head Coach with speaking engagements, public relations and booster functions.

This position is responsible for maintaining a balance of loyalty and team building in order to continue to develop a positive environment for the student-athletes, community and the University. The head coach will assign the assistant coach certain on-the-field responsibilities, as well as other responsibilities that are deemed necessary to effectively develop practice and game plans, scouting opponents, skill development planning, practice planning and community related programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of five (5) years comparable professional experience. Five years of successful Men's Basketball coaching experience at the collegiate level or higher is required. Division I level coaching experience preferred.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
