Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Discharge Analyst to join their Health Information team. The successful applicant will maintain One Day Surgery (ODS) medical records including assembly, analysis and reviewing for completion consistent with Federal, State, and Hospital policies.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Assemble hospital discharge records and ODS accurately.

Enter new providers to the electronic medical record system and maintain QM reports and statistics.

Must have knowledge of generic chart order to complete above. Maintain accuracy rate of 96%.

Analyze discharges and ODS records for completeness, noting deficiencies.

Consistently give accurate attention to detail. Maintain accuracy rate of 96%.

Makes up new medical records when necessary, combining all into one unit record. The accuracy rate is 96%.

When requested, transport newly admitted patients’ charts to floor.

Assemble and analyze medical records within three work days of discharge.

Display courtesy at all times when communicating with physicians, staff members, and the public.

Copy appropriate documents for distribution to physician as requested.
Requirements:
1. Completion of any in-hospital training required.
2. Ability to relate professionally with other hospital staff.
3. Ability to organize and prioritize work.
4. High School or GED/equivalent
5. Business training.
6. Knowledge of office procedures including typing and knowledge of medical terminology.
7. Three to six months training to become familiar with hospital record keeping system.
Schedule:
With consideration to our patients’ and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
