The Principal IT Architect is a technical leader in Boston Biomedical's Infrastructure group. The successful candidate has deep technical and hands on experience across IT infrastructure. The candidate for this role must provide outstanding customer service, possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, exhibit excellent business communication skills and demonstrate a desire to tackle the complex problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement enterprise technologies and related services including Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure, Virtualization, Networking, Datacenters, Desktop Engineering, Cloud Services
Complete projects to budget, timelines, quality standards and communicate risks and progress to business stakeholders
Provide direct IT support
Design, document and diagram technology architecture
Train and mentor peers to administer implemented technologies effectively
Participate in IT compliance-related activities (SOX, GxP)
Champion efforts to standardize processes, technologies, and adopt IT best practices
Adhere to established IT policies and standard operating procedures
Collaborate with and direct the activities of 3rd party technical resources across managed service providers, vendors, and contractors
Author and/or participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Senior level experience deploying and managing enterprise technologies in most of the following categories:

Enterprise Microsoft Technologies: Active Directory, DNS, Server OS, Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint
Virtualization: Global VMware deployments
Datacenter Infrastructure: Server/SAN planning, deployments, consolidation, migrations, performance monitoring
Cloud infrastructure: Office365, Azure, AWS, xAAS
Networking: Cisco Firewall, VPN, Routing, Switching, VOIP,
Desktop Engineering: Windows 10, SCCM (or equivalent)
Successful work history with cross-functional groups to accomplish large IT projects
Superior systems troubleshooting skills. Experience with powershell and scripting.
Passion for maintaining broad technical and solutions knowledge in software, infrastructure, security and architecture areas
Familiarity with Cyber Security Frameworks such as SANS and NIST is a plus
Ability to comply with laws, regulations, and standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study or relevant work experience in lieu of degree

Experience: 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT Infrastructure technologies.
