Position: Safety & Compliance Assistant I
Location: Dover, DE
Responsible for exhibiting Chesapeake Utilities Corporation’s Mission, Vision and Values, regarding external customers, agencies, vendors, internal departments and co-workers.
Performs complex administrative tasks requiring independent judgment and a considerable knowledge of administrative processes and associated software while requiring little supervision. Assists the Manager in maintaining efficient and effective daily operations, composes memos, and provides proofing and editing of internal and external communications. Assists Compliance, Training and Gas Conversion departments with various administrative duties including scheduling, documentation, reporting and customer contacts.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Assists Business Unit with the creation and distribution of weekly, monthly and yearly reporting of data.
Review, maintain and draft policies and procedures.
Prepare and distributes the outgoing mail to include invoices, letters and informational packages.
Manages administrative files for the department and assist team-members with processing invoices in Doc-Link.
Consolidates departments’ personal time off schedules for monthly reporting.
Assist with administrative duties with Veriforce Operator Qualifications and Training Department.
Follow up with required documentation for driver’s files thru JJ Keller.
Track and maintain contractors requirements i.e. COI, MSA, D&A, etc.
Assist with setting up and scheduling training.
Assist Conversion Department with setting up schedules, obtaining permits, gathering consumption data from Utilicis and sending out customer communications.
Acts as the lead for the department to support and coordinate Employee Cares Events when needed.
Completes administrative duties as necessary.
Maintains professionally pleasant working relationships with employees, vendors, and customers.
Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment demonstrating exceptional organizational skills.
Knowledge of, promote, support and participate in the Company’s events and programs.
Assist the Director of Gas Operations, Engineering and Supply.
Assist the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Highly proficient in the use of standard business software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Windows).

Working knowledge of office equipment, copier, fax machine, etc.
Demonstrate sound judgment and stewardship of sensitive or confidential information.
Normal level of visual and hearing ability.
Valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge and skill requirements, including education and work experience, as set forth are preferred for this position, however alternative qualifications may be accepted by the Business Unit Leader if consideration is requested by the hiring manager with the provision of adequate supporting documentation.
