Park Systems manufactures and sells atomic force microscopes (AFM) to the universities, government labs, and industrial customers; AFM is typically used by physicists, material scientists, chemists, and biologists. This is a starting sales position for the West Coast in the U.S.A, and western Canada. This is a customer facing position that will require face to face interaction as well as by phone and e-mail. Candidate will serve as a technical liaison between Park Systems and existing sales representatives and distributors. Candidate must feel confident to interact with highly technical customers; interaction may be both technical and non-technical in nature. The candidate must be a self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills.
Primary duties include:
Prospect, follow up and qualify leads, and manage sales for direct sales accounts.
Manage a team of sales representatives.
Manage sales funnel and monthly sales forecasts.
Develop, implement and manage the strategic sales plans and specific programs to achieve business objectives and quota.
The candidate will assist in the day-to-day sales activities of the regional sales managers and marketing activities including tradeshow exhibits, road shows, and other promotional events.
Travel up to 50% of time both domestically and internationally to Canada.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Must have ability to work in a small company environment. Must be a team player with excellent work ethics combining diligence and discipline. Must have good interpersonal skills and customer focus with attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds from floor to hip height.
Minimum BA/BS in a technical field preferred. Non-technical degrees will be considered depending on experience. Experience in sales or application support of scientific instruments along with the knowledge of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) is a big plus.
