The Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), IT organization is currently seeking a Regional Manager, Systems Administration to lead a large team of systems administrators in support of leading edge technologies.

As a RegionalManager for IT Systems Administration you will manage and lead a team of 60-80 managers and system administrators responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance support of computers, servers, and software platforms, and help lead the development and adoption of digital business supporting technologies for programs located at the Marlborough MA, Portsmouth RI, Fullerton and San Diego CA sites in addition to several IDS remote sites in FL, VA, MA, NM. This role will play an outsized role in the transformation of the organization to support these technologies, ensuring the team is well positioned to enable the adoption of these capabilities on IDS programs.
In this role, you will balance priorities and help site based section managers to develop and grow the team, allocate team members to our highest priorities, help determine technical and service oriented solutions, establish and manage overhead labor budgets, and ensure the execution of IT initiatives. You will have the responsibility for all aspects of people management including: staffing, staff development, training, tool and process development and deployment, and administration of performance appraisals.
Leading site focused regional managers to deliver services to Raytheon programs
Enable the transformation from traditional computing, storage, and networking to solutions that include hyper converged infrastructures and commercial cloud solutions
Ensuring the execution of projects and tasks at acceptable quality levels at a regional level
Managing and reporting on team performance to senior IT leadership
Administer time reporting, ensuring team time entry is being properly conducted
Proactively identify broad staffing and skill requirements and adjust team to align with program needs; enable the recruitment, orientation and onboarding of new employees
Ensure the computing infrastructure hardware, operating systems, storage, applications and communications networks remain in optimal working order
Drive the analysis of existing information systems and process flows for operational efficiencies and identify potential enhancements. Develop improved procedures and/or recommend corrective action, leveraging best practices from other parts of IDS IT and the company when possible
Evaluate proposed computer solutions and approving proposals or recommending alternatives
Development of relationships with peer function senior leaders; develop proactive approaches and strategies to meet their requirements in advance of need
Prepare and submit periodic progress reports and accomplishments
Domestic or international travel may be required
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance, except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible to obtain a US Government Clearance.
Capped Relocation Support is available for this role if the selected applicant is eligible per company policy. Budget will be discussed directly with the applicant at the appropriate time.
This role can be located at the Marlborough MA, Portsmouth RI, Fullerton CA or San Diego CA locations.
Domestic travel to additional sites will be required.
10+ years of progressive experience developing and deploying IT systems administration or other IT related technology solutions; experience with Windows, Linux, or Unix operating systems, storage systems, Networking, and other fundamental IT technologies.
5+ years leading IT teams in the delivery of systems administration, architecture, or other IT related technical tasking
Proven experience creating IT service management solutions that create efficiencies and drive common operations between teams/locations
Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
Strong organizational, teamwork and collaboration skills
Active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment
Experience with AWS or Azure architecture and/or deployment
ITIL Foundations certification/ ITIL Service Manager certification preferred
Knowledge of Active Directory and group policy management
Understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts
Working knowledge of data storage and data backup technologies
Programming or scripting experience
Demonstrated knowledge of current DSS/ DoD 8570.1 and Raytheon Classified computing practices and guidelines
Ability to work with limited supervision and technical direction
Security+ or CISSP certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment
Active Top Secret Clearance preferred
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field
