Hygiene Controller
This position is ideal for someone who is looking to continue a career in Food Safety, Quality Control/Quality Assurance with opportunities to learn a lot and take on more responsibilities in your career

Reports to: Food Safety and Hygiene Supervisor and Regional Quality Assurance Manager.

Responsibilities

Be part of an energetic team, creating gourmet products served to thousands of passengers daily, on the World’s best International Airlines
Perform Assigned Daily, Weekly and Monthly Hygiene/Food Safety Tasks based on Hygiene Controller Manual and Company Global Food Safety Manual
Help ensure quality and hygiene standards are met for food, beverage, ingredients, and merchandise and supply items prepared and distributed to our airline clients
Responsible for ensuring quality assurance and product/food safety and regulatory compliance, adhering to local, state, federal, international environmental, health and food safety regulations
Train employees, provide coaching on hygiene and safety matters
Provide support before/at customer audits, health department inspections, trainings and consultations and ensure employees understand and comply with applicable standards
Food storage control and food wastage control
Support with pest control management
Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook
Report problems with the food safety management system to their Supervisor and Manager and the hygiene and food safety team
Perform the daily pre-operation inspection, record and log
Qualifications

A minimum of High School Certificate and or Technical/Vocational Education and a maximum of Bachelors in the Sciences
Work Experience in QA/QC department or related field preferred
Work Experience in a catering establishment or food processing floor monitoring established food safety and quality parameters preferred
Knowledge of HACCP, and other Food Safety Related Trainings will be an added advantage
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Self-motivated, professional work ethic & service-oriented and a hands-on approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, standing for a prolonged period of time necessary
Flexibility (different shifts – early morning, evening, weekends, holidays)
Passion about the service industry and excellent attention to detail
Good computer skills required (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel formulation)
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
The ability to obtain a Port Authority ID (per TSA regulations and more specifically 49 CFR §1542.209)
