The City of the Santa Clarita is seeking a part-time/temporary/seasonal (PTS) candidate to fill a Code Enforcement Aide position working within the Community Preservation Division. This position will be responsible for performing field work enforcing the City's abatement regulations as well as providing documentation related to public right-of-way (sidewalks, streets, alleyways, parkways, and medians) violations to Code Enforcement Officers.

Monday and Tuesday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Wednesday
8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
Twenty (20) Hours Each Week
Schedule May Change Based on Operational Needs*

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Removing unpermitted signage, shopping carts, discarded furniture, debris, and trash from the City's public right-of-way (sidewalks, streets, alleyways, parkways, and medians) areas
  • Investigating possible public right-of-way violations
  • Photographing evidence
  • Performing follow-up investigations
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records and documentation
Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent
  • College coursework in Criminology, Administration of Justice, Urban Planning, or related field highly desirable
  • Possession of California Peace Officer Standards and Training Penal Code 832 Certification is highly desirable
  • Possession of California Association of Code Enforcement Officers Basic Training Certification is highly desirable
  • Valid California driver's license and safe driving record required

  • Ability to lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing 50 pounds or more
