The Staff Accountant, Corporate Accounting will manage month-end close, treasury, AR, and AP. The perfect candidate will be a self-starter, excited to learn, and willing to adapt to constant change. This role will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and will have great visibility cross-departmentally across all functions of the organization.
Additionally, the Staff Accountant, Corporate Accounting will support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statement schedules, annual compilation of footnotes, miscellaneous financial reporting requests, and annual audits.
Perform day-to-day activities associated with the monthly financial statement close process.
Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Ensure key corporate balance sheet accounts are reconciled to supporting detail on a monthly basis; maintain sufficient documentation such that all transactions are recorded and supported in the general ledger and appropriate sub-ledgers.
Support corporate cost allocation process.
Coordinate and manage corporate cash related activities including the application of cash receipts, corresponding journal entries, and cash reconciliations.
Assist with annual audit work papers and audit report preparation.
Liaise with Project Managers, Development, Finance, and Treasury on a variety of job related topics including insurance and contract agreements.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of Accounting theory, principles, practices and regulations including FASB/GAAP and compliance.
0-2 years of experience in accounting.
Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly and annual department driven deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
Strong coordination / organization skills with attentiveness to timelines.
Strong interpersonal skills – able to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsible, dependable and possess an exceptional work ethic.
