Acknowledges patients and families in a prompt and courteous manner and provides friendly assistance.
Directs patients and families to appropriate areas within the Surgical Services in a positive and professional manner.
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers demonstrating the ability to understand patients' limitations and expectations.
Answers phones courteously and promptly and refers all medical questions to nurse.
Prepares and assembles charts, cards, labels and bracelets.
Obtains signatures on all necessary legal permits, notices and consents.
Collects required co-payments.
Maintains all paperwork for pre-registered patients.
Assists with tracking lab and other diagnostic results for PAT visits.
Accurately documents all client visits and required information in the logbook.
Assists in filing and sorting paper when necessary.
Obtains PAT patients' records needed for review by anesthesiologist, and registered nurse.
Files lab, x-ray, and referral reports in appropriate medical records according to established procedure.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Basic computer skills required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
Experience is required.
Healthcare experience is required.
Medical Terminology experience is required.
