DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Trainees receive formal and on-the-job training designed to develop technical skills necessary to serve customers with a wide range of physical, mental, visual, hearing, and/or sensory disabilities. Counselor Trainees identify barriers to employment; evaluate strengths, interests, abilities, and aptitudes; and develop and implement a plan of medical, social, vocational, community, and family services to aid in obtaining suitable employment. Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees will be promoted to the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor job with an increase in salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Must meet PA residency requirement
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in social work, clinical mental health counseling, community counseling, career counseling, psychology, disability and human development, special education, or rehabilitative science, which includes three graduate credits in theories and techniques of counseling.
Must be able to perform essential job functions
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports .
