- Host/Hostess Experience
EF International Language Campuses
200 Lake Street
Part-time, seasonal (start immediately through end of August)
EF International Languages Campuses has a school in Brighton that teaches English to international students. Some of the students live with American host families while studying. The Host Family Recruiter helps the Host Family Coordinator to find, recruit, vet, and assist host families. The host family experience is an influential and rewarding experience for the students, thus, it is a critical component to the student’s satisfaction and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for the student.
The Host Family Recruiter creatively searches for new host families and monitors/assists current host families. Recruitment could involve engaging local schools, churches, and organizations and explaining how rewarding it is to host an international student. The recruiter may also be tabling at local fairs, farmers markets, or supermarkets, informing and speaking with interested families. There is also a database of families that the recruiter would contact to determine whether families are still interested in hosting. The goals and tasks are challenging and are best suited for those who are resilient, energetic, and interested in sales and marketing.
