We are a very small personal advisory firm offering a internship for a financial planning student. The timeframe and hours are flexible, but you could start immediately.
The ideal intern would have completed at least a year of college coursework for finance or as a paraplanner and wants exposure to a small office practice.
We think our next full-time hire might come from this internship helping us build our business by providing a superior client experience. We offer comprehensive financial planning and our clients and our process are our best sources of growth.
The ideal intern will be conversant in the following financial advisor topics
- theory of efficient markets
- modern portfolio theory
- differences between IRA's, Roth IRA's, and 401(k)'s
- difference between index investing and actively managed mutual funds
Your duties would be to help with day to day operations focused on our consultative client process. Please visit our webpage titled "wealth management" to see the flowchart for that process. Meeting preparation, light phone duties, light office work, and broad software use.
We use Microsoft Office products, client relationship manager software called Junxure, and MoneyGuidePro for retirement projections. Ability to quickly learn these tools is a must.
Our process requires all emails and communications to be drafted and reviewed internally before sending to clients and contacts. This is part of our compliance program and quality standards. Client confidentiality and privacy are imperative. Can you work as part of a team with those standards?
