Marketing Manager, Pharmaceuticals
Deerfield, IL or Virtual/Work from Home (US)

Accelerate growth by helping develop/execute an aggressive marketing/growth strategy for Baxter’s Pharmaceuticals Global Business Unit (“GBU”).
Identify unmet needs, define product requirements, and determines investment needs for new programs.
Drive execution of new product development activities from exploration through launch.
Ensures successful product management throughout the product life-cycle, including product improvements, compliance, expansions, optimization and discontinuation of products.
Oversees the overall financial health of the product and has strong market ad clinical knowledge on the use of the product globally.
Talented individual with marketing background and expertise in pharmaceuticals, preferably generic injectables
With direction from the Portfolio Director, lead molecule selection, development of commercial plans, execution of key marketing initiatives and delivery of overall financial results.
Assess market opportunities for growth/forecast global demand
Uncover customer unmet needs/define product requirements for new product development projects, including cost
Develop value proposition/claims needed for differentiation
Define market development strategy and identify key adoption barriers
Develop financial models to ensure new programs support financial goals (NPV, IRR)
Create global product launch plans, including go-to-market strategies in coordination with launch country marketers
Develop annual plans, including Global Long-Range Plan (LRP) and R&D investment plan
Uncover market opportunities to launch existing products in new geographies
Collaborate with R&D, Medical, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Market Access, and Regional Marketing teams
Monitor/evaluate external competitive environment to proactively identify opportunities and help mitigate threats to existing portfolio and pipeline.
3+ years business experience with at least 1+ year/s experience in pharmaceuticals or pharmacy, preferably generic injectables.
Experience in multiple facets of pharmaceutical marketing, including:
Market strategy (Target Product Profile, Go-to-market plan, Value proposition)
Product Development (Feature selection, prioritization, Voice of Customer, launch excellence)
Life-cycle management (Discontinuation, Quality improvements, Regulatory compliance)
Branding (naming structures, message mapping, product claims, consistency)
Portfolio Management (prioritization of projects and features)
Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis (pricing targets, Cost of Goods targets, product performance analysis, industry trends and practice)
Market research (Uncover unmet needs, 1:1 interviews and online research, competitive intelligence)
Excellent quantitative/qualitative assessment skills, critical thinking skills, and demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans and business cases.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment. Strong presentation and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of external healthcare business environment
Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, finance, marketing, business or science/technology required. Pharmacy degree, MBA or PhD in science preferred.
Experience in the healthcare industry and specifically generic injectables; previous marketing and/or customer facing role preferred
