University Student Housing
Coordination and management of students, staff, and programs within a residence hall/complex. Supervises subordinate staff, student employees and volunteers.
***The Residence Life Coordinator Position is a LIVE-ON Position which means that you must reside in an apartment located within the assigned Residence Hall on the TTU Campus.***
Supervise 1 Full-Time Senior Business Assistant, 1-2 Graduate Hall Coordinators, 6-23 Community Advisors, and up to 12 Student Assistants.
Participate in the recruitment, selection training, and development of professional and paraprofessional staff.
Complete formal and informal evaluations of assigned staff each academic semester.
Manage implementation of the Residential Curriculum within an assigned complex, including the guidance of staff, oversight of proposals, evaluations, and funding.
Administer budget responsibilities for the complex.
Monitor, maintain, and/or approve payroll.
Manage student of concern and incident reporting via the Maxient system.
Support, provide guidance for, and implement the Disney Customer Service model (SERVE TECH & SERVE USH).
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding Learning Communities, Programming, and other complex initiatives and needs.
Support departmental initiatives within Residence Life including but not limited to Academic Initiatives, Social Justice Education, Student Intervention, Recruitment &Training, and Summer Conferences
Serve on departmental committee(s) as assigned.
Utilize departmental databases and online systems for the management of University Student Housing and Residence Life operations.
During assigned on-call shifts, be accessible by the department provided cell phone 24-hours per day (may include holiday breaks).
Be available on a call-to-duty status whenever residence halls are in operation and assist Residence Life staff with residence hall and campus emergencies.
Work with stakeholders, including the Texas Tech Police Department, Crisis Hotline, and the Student Counseling Center, to respond to student concerns or incidents within the residence halls.
Ensure accurate reporting and provide follow-up as necessary with student and parent concerns.
Promote community development via building walk-throughs, programming, and visibility within the hall to foster student ownership and care of residential facilities.
Oversee 24-Hour Desk Operations with the assigned residence hall complex.
Implement required emergency drills (Fire Drills, Severe Weather Drills etc.) and complete any required paperwork or follow-up.
Partner with building stakeholders (i.e. facilities, housekeeping, hospitality) regarding the management of assigned facilities.
Serve as a Residence Life Coordinator for Summer Camp/Conference Operations and/or Summer School.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding summer needs.
Maintain up-to-date information in applicable Summer Databases to ensure accuracy for planning, billing, etc.
Master's degree required in a related field plus two years related residence hall staff experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience.
Master's degree in Higher Education or Student Affairs highly preferred.
