Job Summary:
- The US Postal Services is investing in Smart Locker technology, which will enhance its customer service by allowing alternatives to home delivery of mail/packages
- Looking for Network Engineer who will support the project team from the perspective of the equipment networking requirements
Job Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the coordination with the USPS Information Technology group to submit and coordinate approval of NCRBs (Network Authorization) for each Postal site that receives Smart Lockers
- As necessary, travel to installation sites to troubleshoot and repair connectivity issues at problematic sites that a junior Network Engineer is unable to resolve
- Work with USPS Software Development group and the equipment supplier to assure activation and commissioning of the Smart Lockers at designated Postal sites
- Prepares weekly reports for the project management team regarding status of assigned responsibilities.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Typically reports to a Project Manager
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area, preferably commercial or industrial equipment
- Prefer experience in vendor management and field deployment for industrial production equipment
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency using MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours when needed
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test
- Candidates must meet eligibility requirements as candidates will be processed for a Public Trust clearance
- After an indoctrination period of approximately 60 days, the incumbent will be eligible to work remotely up to 3 days/week
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
