Primary markets for our high-performance products include automotive, microelectronic and communication interconnects—as well as a long history in the supply of standard alloys in the manufacture of ammunition, coinage and builders’ hardware. We have an opportunity for an Inside Sales Manager at our Louisville, Kentucky, office.

Responsibilities Purpose of Role

The Inside Sales Manager role recruits, motivates, trains, and leads the Inside Sales team. Responsibilities include directing staff and overseeing the order fulfillment process—to include forecasting, order entry, administration, and shipping communication. Responsible for designing and implementing improved process or operational policy to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. This role will work closely with Marketing and Sales to maintain an understanding of the evolving marketplace.

Core Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the achievement of strategic initiatives and objectives while continuously working to increase Olin Brass profit margins.
  • Drive the Inside Sales team to Identify and grow areas for business development. This includes current customer growth and/or new customer growth. Submit monthly status report on growth initiatives. Expected growth to include new items, new customers, new volume and new profitability.
  • Establish Training programs to create and sustain a world-class Inside Sales team. This includes training the team on Inside Sales skills as well as Olin Brass product knowledge and systems information.
  • Identify and create an Inside Sales scorecard measuring key performance metrics including Customer satisfaction, order accuracy, invoicing accuracy, quote response, forecast accuracy, timeliness of information, etc.
  • Manage the finished goods programs making sure customers are booking orders according to their reserve terms, and inventory is within aging and quantity guidelines.
  • Manage the daily functions of the team including bookings, shipments, invoicing, credit entry and approval, customer satisfaction, etc. Manage employee relations issues within the team.
  • Manage input from Outside Sales and Inside Sales to produce a robust rolling forecast to Supply Chain Planning. Participate in the S&OP processes weekly and monthly.
  • Work together in the Inside Sales team; provide guidance and assistance to Inside Sales Supervisors, Representatives and Administrators. Work closely with the Outside Sales team ensuring we are a professional, unified team representing Olin Brass. Work cohesively with supply chain ensuring we are booking the facilities as efficiently as possible.
  • Identify Continuous improvement opportunities associated with the Sales and Marketing processes. Examine current processes and identify, plan, and execute areas where improvements can be made. Work collaboratively with supply chain, sales and operations to develop and recommend strategies that will differentiate Olin Brass.
  • Participate in and support audit for ISO and SOX compliance ensuring adherence to established processes and procedures, as well as documenting changes.

  • Qualifications Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 5-10+ years of experience in proven Inside Sales Leadership Role, experience working directly with Operations & Supply Chain, Project Management, excellent communication and people skills, excellent computer skills (ERP, APS, Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required;
  • Ability to understand customer and internal critical issues and effectively communicate to colleagues and customers. Initiate corrective action through proper use of the leadership model. Ability to assist team members by leading where appropriate, and serving as a team member. Ability to be candid;
  • Requires data analysis to evaluate systems and the need to initiate changes to address system inefficiencies. Assist in redesigning systems to meet internal or customer needs. Consideration of cost and market opportunities;
  • Ability to bring together the appropriate people and information to make timely, effective decisions. Ability to solve problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of the issues involved;
  • Ability to achieve results, manage multiple tasks and objectives in parallel, and change;
