Leads the day-to-day activities of one of the functional areas (shipping, receiving, stockroom, and direct fulfillment) of Inventory Control.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates, prioritizes, tracks, and verifies the shipment of products. Communicates shipments to appropriate departments within Michigan facility. Prepares and verifies that shippers, ship requests, commercial invoices, receivers, packing slips, and bills of lading are completed correctly to ensure product is delivered on time. Maintains the accuracy of shipping inventory. Assists in preparing products for shipping. Operates Hi-Lo as needed.
Maintains the receiving area, which involves processing, and inspecting return material authorizations, releasing inspected parts, and resolving defective part issues for production. Enters part number and quantities into computerized inventory control system, investigates missing parts issues and follows through on issues to ensure resolution. Inspects prototype parts and releases for use in production. Communicates with peers the status of the receiving area.
Coordinates the movement of material to the manufacturing floor to support production schedules. Delegates material movement assignments/tasks to stockroom personnel to ensure uninterrupted production on the manufacturing floor. Maintains the accuracy of stockroom inventory. Maintains organization of Bin Management and First In First Out maintenance. Tracks and maintains office and manufacturing supply levels and provides Materials Department information on overstock and stock shortages.
Maintains stock/inventory levels, fills orders, and enters material information into computerized inventory control system for direct fulfillment area. Track material received and shipped to customers. Arranges customer orders, sort orders, package orders, runs shipping reports, ships orders, prioritizes orders, prepares invoices, files paperwork, and maintain files.
Trains new employees on functional areas procedures and assumes supervisory role in the absence of the supervisor. Provides feedback on employee performance/disciplinary actions to supervisor.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent, and Technical school certificate or equivalent.
Plus 1 to 3 years experience in a relevant Jabil Technical position OR equivalent external work experience.
MUST HAVE STRONG COMPUTER SKILLS - EXCEL, WORD, SAP PREFERRED.
