The Richardson School is now accepting applications for a special education teacher position at our Madison location!

The Richardson School provides a year-round school option for local districts to access for children with special needs. Typically these children have been dually diagnosed with developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders.

The Richardson School serves children with a range of intellectual disabilities, including those who are non-verbal. We serve children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorders, learning disabilities, neurological impairments, behavioral disorders, speech and language impairments, genetic disorders, seizure disorders and other neurological disabilities. Children with developmental disabilities, as well as multiple medical conditions, including sight or hearing impairments, are also carefully considered for services, depending on other diagnostic features. Provides education services to students with exceptional education knowledge and expertise. Works with Education Cooridinator in the daily program implementation and coordination.

Develops and implements overall classroom Behavior Management Plan
Aids Education Coordinator in development and implementation of IBP's
Updates progress and manages students' IEP's
Work direction and oversight to Instructional Aides working in their classroom
Bachelor's Degree in from an accredited college or university
Be certified by the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) in one of the following licenses: Cross-Categorical (1801), EA-A Learning Disabilities (1811), EA-A Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (1830), or EA-A Cognitive Disabilities (1810).
Experience working with emotionally disturbed or cognitively disabled individuals preferred
