The Clinician Manager is the leader in the JSMD clinic, providing both 1:1 care as well as medical oversight that ensures high quality patient care and exemplary service from all staff. The CM is responsible for clinic goals for patient care (service delivery, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement); people development (training, recognition, satisfaction, hiring & retention) and fiscal management (cost management, revenue). This position participates in operational and strategic planning as part of the management team. The Clinician Manager is a hybrid role providing direct patient care while also ensuring the clinic meets all care standards and regulatory requirements related to service area as appropriate.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct 1:1 member consultations ranging from in-depth initial visits to 15-minute weekly check-ups. Evaluate and interpret health needs of patients and provide direct assistance in setting goals. Apply basic knowledge and understanding of scientific theory to enhance the effectiveness of these conversations.
Provide routine care and management of patients as outlined in JSMD’s standardized procedures. Perform physical examinations and screenings of patients. Effectively inform and educate patients about specific wellness concerns. Diagnose health problems and detect changes in patient condition.
Regularly make follow up phone calls and timely respond to patient post-visit inquiries.
Perform routine procedures, exams and order and evaluate appropriate lab tests.
Operate medical equipment.
Ensure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
Deliver quality, physician-level care while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and productivity metrics
Hire, coach, and develop staff including professional development planning and opportunities. Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards and disciplinary action.
Ensure employees adhere to their regular work schedules, effectively manage overtime and requests for time off and ensure staff training is completed timely.

Plan, evaluate, and improve SOPs to enhance quality of care, member satisfaction, efficiency, and output.
Attend monthly meetings and complete assigned training as required.
Model exemplary patient interaction and program delivery.
Assist line staff with medical and program-related questions.
Maintain a strong knowledge base and application of JSMD policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain a strong knowledge base of weight loss principles and effective use of 15 Healthy Habits resources.
As appropriate elevate program or operational issues to Regional Director
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
California licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
DEA Registration Certificate.
OIG Clearance and NPI number
Must be able to meet and receive a background check to include criminal records clearance

A strong interest in preventative medicine, modern biomarker laboratory assessment, psychiatry, and endocrinology.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office platform. Experience with electronic health records, billing and appointment systems.
Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
