There are three key aspects of the Consulting Operations role: Resource Management/Staffing, PSA Data Management, Operations Management.
Staffing Coordinator/Resource Management
Facilitates and owns project staffing decisions for a 800+ person delivery team, 30+ partner network, and 400+ offshore delivery team, with the objective of staffing the right person on the right project.
Communicates staffing assignments to consultants in concert with Delivery Managers.
Stays in communication with delivery management team regarding consultant assignments, burn out risk, travel %, career goals and other details pertinent for staffing.
Participates in Talent Reviews
Stays in communication with sales team and engagement managers regarding opportunity close dates, required skill set for projects, project end dates, and other details pertinent for staffing.
Partners with area Practice Leads on Workforce planning (skills, resources mix, numbers.) and communicates hiring plans and demand to the Recruiting team.
Maximizes delivery utilization by monitoring gaps in consultant availability against open resource needs, with the objective of exceeding 81% utilization target.
PSA Data Management
Sets up resource records, projects, and consultant assignments. Assists in monitoring the data to ensure accurate financial reporting and billing information.
Assists PMs and ADs as needed on monitoring project time and expense overruns.
Ensure the Net Adds Target are being achieved as per the Target set by WMG Head and Practice Head
Collaboratively work with the Delivery Managers and Vertical Staffing Managers and ensure that the Overdue for the respective location/geo should be kept <10%
Work Collaboratively with the Central team and ensure that updates related to New Joiners Not Billed, Employees >60 days Bench @ Offshore are being shared weekly once
Constant tracking and follow-up with recruitment team for resource availability for various projects
Works alongside IT and R&D to improve PSA functionality
Strives to continuously improve operational efficiencies
Education and Required Experience (Requirements)
BA/BS or equivalent; MBA is a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 10 years experience in a consulting environment with rapidly changing project needs and 1- 2 years in a Consulting Ops role.
Knowledge and experience with PSA (Professional Services Automation) tools strongly preferred (QuickArrow, OpenAir, Salesforce.com, or related)
Strong analytical skills and resource modeling
Strong systems background with the ability to enter data accurately, source and find information.
Strong communication skills and problem solving
Ability to work collaboratively with others to complete tasks and assignments
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to changing priorities and work calmly under pressure and deadlines
Ability to make contingency plans if issues arises
