Medical Office Assistant/ Receptionist

We have an immediate opening for 1 full time position of 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm to work in both our Edina and Burnsville locations . The successful candidate should have 1-2 years experience with office support, preferably in a medical/mental health office. This candidate should be able to multitask, highly organized, be flexible, have excellent telephone skills and customer service. Experience with EMR system is a plus. This person must be able to pay attention to detail, have a friendly attitude and professional presentation of self. Job requires working both in our Edina and Burnsville locations.

Job duties include clinic admin duties; but are not limited to: answering telephones, greeting clients, updating clients' medical records, assist with filling out insurance forms, verifying client insurance, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining front desk and waiting area, and handling co-pays. Maintains adequate levels of necessary office supplies. Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPPA policies. Ensures that medical documents are scanned and uploaded to patient’s charts as appropriate. Assures that reception area is clean and orderly. Obtains insurance prior authorizations and eligibility,new patient referrals . Assist with office treatment procedure. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations including MS Word, MS Excel, Open Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, administration, clients, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with therapists
  • Ability to listen to clients and understand and respond positively to their requests
  • Ability to present in a professional manner and appearance
  • Previous medical front desk, reception/receptionist, administrative assistant, or office experience preferred.
