As part of Deutsche Bank’s Research Technology team, the DIG (Data Innovation Group) program is delivering pioneering, market leading insights derived from both financial and non-economic data including market conditions, geospatial data, ESG influences and retail behavior via AI/ML techniques.

Role Description

Working with other engineers and operations colleagues your role will be to ensure the automated and stable running of the applications on PaaS, Cloud and data technology platforms. Your Role

What You’ll Do:
Provide fast-paced technical support for all applications used by the Research and Coverage business including the cutting edge α-DIG platform
Create, manage and prioritize incident tickets. Working with the global technology team, across regions and time zones, to resolve incidents, ensuring that affected users & management are always kept informed. On-call support will be required on a rota basis both during the week and at weekends
Collaborate with engineers to improve and automate aspects of the platform from CI/CD, Ansible playbooks and service availability
Working with engineers to validate software releases ensuring advanced warning, appropriate technical and user testing has been completed
Ensuring application monitoring is kept in line with application releases and change
Ensuring that run books and information critical to successful release management are in place in advance of work occurring

Skills You’ll Need:
Experience in a financial institution in an IT support or DevOps team dealing with business users on support or requirement gathering. Broad ITIL / best practice service context within a real time distributed environment (ITIL v3 foundation certificate desired)
Getting things done in large organizations – understanding of where to use processes and how to build and operate a network and the ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies
Excellent problem solving skills in a distributed, multi-technology ecosystem
Demonstrable experience to DevOps techniques working within a virtualized and cloud based deployment environment using configuration management tools like Ansible (preferred), Chef or Puppet
Strong coding experience in Java, Python and shell scripting on both Windows and UNIX
Strong operational knowledge of SQL (Oracle) platforms and experience of NO-SQL offerings such as MongoDB, HDFS, Hive or Impala

Skills That Will Help You Excel:
Solid understanding of messaging middleware like Solace, TIBCO or MQ using JMS
Solid understanding of monitoring systems like ITRS Geneos, Netcool and Tivoli
Understanding of Agile and Safe methodologies (preferred)
