SUMMARY

The Executive Director, Scientific Research - Program for Innovative Microbiome and Translational Research (PRIME-TR) is responsible for developing, managing, and supervising aspects of biomarker discovery, validation, translational research and clinical positioning of the PRIME-TR program.

The Program for Innovative Microbiome and Translational Research (PRIME-TR) has been created to provide critical framework to maximize insights gained from microbiome and translational research studies at MD Anderson Cancer Center with the goal of advancing care for patients with cancer.

As a member of PRIME-TR leadership team, the Executive Director works alongside program director and co-directors to set strategic goals for the program including research and commercialization initiatives. Additionally, the Executive Director has responsibility of the day-to-day operation of the program by overseeing the management of PRIME-TR research projects, production activities and provide functional and technical management to scientific personnel.

Requirements:
Doctorate in Life Sciences
Five years of supervisory and leadership activities
Five years of experience developing and participating in interdisciplinary collaborative supported by research publications in the microbiome space or similar
Proven record of innovation and development of applications in microbiome and metagenomic field
Preferred Experience: Industry-like experience in microbiome research
