Founded in 1985, the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) is committed to helping athletes optimize their health and performance through research and education in hydration and nutrition science. As a part of GSSI, the incumbent of this role will be tasked with representing GSSI and the PepsiCo Global Nutrition R&D teams with high standards and in accordance with ethical guidelines for human research and conduct. Additionally, the specific job responsibilities of the incumbent are as follows:
Reporting to the manager of US Engagement, Lead the US Athlete Service program
Manage the sweat testing program, to include evaluating requests, leading testing events either in the field or lab, planning staff for all testing events, creating reports, communicating results to influencers and athletes, managing data storage, and managing an external group of sweat testing consultants
Develop an organizational assessment program for teams, to include execution plans and appropriate feedback
Support development and execution of the Elite Recovery program
Working with an external review board, maintain and update the Service program ethics documents
Support relevant research initiatives
Demonstrate knowledge of and following good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines
Contribute to the GSSI Education program through presentations and material content contribution
Work closely with the Gatorade Partner Services team in providing scientific support for practitioner initiatives
We are open to this position being based from one of our GSSI facilities in Frisco, Texas or Barrington, Illinois but the preference is Bradenton, Florida.
Required: Master of Science or Ph.D degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology/Sports Nutrition or related discipline; 5+ years experience working with elite athletes
Must have excellent communication skills with a variety of audiences (athletes, practitioners, scientists, colleagues), a pro-active work mentality, be organized, and be flexible to work in a high performance and ever-changing environment (travel and occasional work during non-traditional hours, including weekends, approximately 35-40%).
