Structural Component Systems, Inc. of Fremont, NE is actively seeking a full-time Building Material Coordinator to confirm estimate details and organize material order to be shipped on various light commercial and complex multifamily projects This exempt-level position works in our Omaha, Nebraska or Grimes, Iowa office or can be fully Remote with typical hours Monday - Friday, 45 average hours/week. Candidates with knowledge of the construction industry and past loose material estimating or similar experience is required.
Please note: At least 2 years of wood construction loose materials estimating or coordinating experience is required. Experience with Planswift, Bluebeam or similar software is also required. We do not hire candidates with residency outside of the USA.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUILDING MATERIALS COORDINATOR
This role is critical to navigating successful projects in Structural Component Systems, Inc.'s large project format. This person will be responsible for full-project coordinating on loose material orders on any project over $100,000.00 in sales. Accuracy and speed in creating complete estimates is critical to ensure customer satisfaction and project profitability.

Remote possible for highly experienced candidates in the wood component estimating/project coordinating field.
Job Overview: This role is critical to navigating successful projects in Structural Component System, Inc.'s large project format. This person will be responsible for entering and managing loose material orders on any size of commercial project (Retail, Lodging, Office, Industrial, Medical and/or Multifamily). Optimization of loose material estimates, checking in on material status/needs on projects and trouble-shooting with framers/customers will be mostly everyday tasks. Success in this role creates satisfied customers who have what they need when they need it. It also limit's unnecessary deliveries to the job site and large material returns.
Responsibilities & Duties: (This may include some or all of the following activities.)

Review plans to identify both specified and non-specified material requirements.

Identify possible substitutions and/or value engineering opportunities.

Coordinate material issues with the PM, purchasing and sales staff as needed.

Accounting (i.e. reconciling of materials and costs, budgets)

Convert loose material estimates into loose material orders.

Communication and coordination within and between departments

Maintain detailed records and reports of related job information for each project.

Strive for efficient, accurate and economical resolutions of customer service issues.

Review project documents for cost impact (ASI's, PR's, Addenda, Etc.).

Work with management and peers to continually improve processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. AS/BS degree preferred. Similar experience will be considered.

2+ years of wood construction estimating/coordinating experience REQUIRED.
- Read and interpret construction documents (i.e. Structural and Architectural plans, project SPECS, estimates, etc.)

Broad knowledge of framing materials and practices is preferred with a willingness to learn new products.

Capability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines

Efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel).

Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.

Able to work independently, as a team player, supporting company goals and objectives in a professional manner.

Estimating/design software experience (e.g. Mitek, Timberline, PlanSwift, or Epicor PE).

Experience in an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System (e.g. BisTrack or Agility)

Able to work effectively and productively with others at all organizational levels, as well as with the public.

Present information in a clear, logical and insightful manner.
