As the Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for approximately 500 employees, and all other payrolls.

What We Are Looking For:
High School Diploma/GED
3-5 years of experience of payroll administration in an industrial or manufacturing environment
6 years of experience also accepted in lieu of High School Diploma
Experience with PEBA state retirement rules and system
Experience working within PeopleSoft HCM and Financial to conduct payroll
Experience using KRONOS platform for time keeping
Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management System (preferred)
Knowledge of methods and routines in payroll and an understanding of accounting
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and complex payroll/accounting software
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
Proficient organization and time management skills
Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion
Must be able to use a 10-key calculator

What You’ll Do As A Payroll Administrator:
Run processes for all payrolls
Research and resolve discrepancies
Transmit bank and other files
Prepare tax payments and journal entries
Input time for one department and resolve time-inputter questions and problems
Comply with all garnishment laws
Maintain employee garnishments
Maintain all (non-medical) deductions
File any necessary related reporting
Maintain all miscellaneous earnings
Maintain all employee bank account allocations and changes
Maintain all employee W-4 forms and tax changes
Timely file payroll tax returns and retirement reports
Process all other employee payroll changes
Balance and reconcile payroll reports
Monitor and update deduction arrears
Test payroll scenarios
Perform bookkeeping tasks for the State Port Employees Club
Verify and maintain certified payroll records for Davis-Bacon compliance
Report to payroll venders, e.g. deferred compensation, optional retirement, etc.
State retirement reporting for terminated and retired employees
Research and explain payroll histories for legal requests
Complete special projects as assigned
Assist employees as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
